The line-up is incredible this year, you won't want to miss it. Good luck to all! Vocal Point would like to welcome the newest member Eric Sackett and wish the best to Grant Zabriski! VP heads out this weekend to Berkeley, CA for the ICCA Quarterfinals! Thanks to all who auditioned for Vocal Point this year. It's always fun to get to know each of you and see the awesome talent hear at BYU. We would like to welcome our four newest members, Paul Bodily, Ariel Johnson, Scott Sackett, and Grant Zabriskie. Returning from last year are JJ Haines, Ben Henry, Micah Lorenc, Buck Mangum, and Chase Weed. AUDITIONS! After an AMAZING show in California, Vocal Point walked away as the ICCA West Region runners-up. Congrats to Noteworthy and University of Oregon Divisi for taking First and Third, respectively. We had a lot of fun, and all of the groups at the show were incredible. Good job, all! After a long weekend of delayed flights, tons of rehearsal, and searching for an open IHOP at 1AM, Vocal Point returns home from Berkeley as Quarterfinal Champions! Congrats to James and Chelsea Stevens for Best Arrangement and Best Choreography. VP will be joining Stanford University's Raagappella at the Semifinals on March 10th. We're getting ready to head to California this weekend for the first round of ICCA! Between recording sessions, basketball game halftimes, Dancer's Company shows, and actually being students, we've had some difficulty keeping up on a few things, like updating the website. Look for new pics and sound clips soon! We apologize for the current issues with the website. We are in the process of moving to a new server, and there may be some access issues for the next couple of days. We hope to have it all resolved soon. Thanks for your patience. Vocal Point won the final round of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Saturday, April 29th, earning the right to the title of International Champions. Thanks to Varsity Vocals and the ICCA community, our fellow competitors, and to all the family, friends, and fans who believed in us! Even though the school year is over, we have many performances coming up, including ICCA finals and our East Coast tour. Tickets are available for some shows. More information can be found on the Performances Page. We will be holding preliminary auditions this Friday, April 14, in room E-400 of the HFAC, from 3-5 pm. We invite everyone interested in being in the group next year to come prepared with a 60 second solo. Sign up for a time on the bulletin board by the ticket office. CONGRATULATIONS! Vocal Point took first place at the Western Regional ICCA, and advances to the Finals in New York on Saturday, April 29. For anyone who missed last week's concert, there are still many opportunities to hear Vocal Point this year. Check the performances page for a list of all our upcoming concerts. Vocal Point thanks everyone who made the Vocal Point 15 Year reunion a huge success. Here's to another 15! We are proud to announce the beginning of the Vocal Point 15 Year Reunion. Various event will be held Thursday, March 2, through Saturday, March 4. A Vocal Point Alumni show, featuring performances by alumni from every year, will be Friday at 7:30 in the Richards Building Theater. Tickets can be purchased through the BYU Fine Arts Ticket Office. Vocal Point has been asked to give a fireside on February 12. It will start at 7:00 in the Smith Fieldhouse main area. Join us for a very uplifting evening. Vocal Point is getting ready to go to Thatcher, Arizona, the hometown of Jordan and Ryan. We will be performing a full show at Eastern AZ College on Friday, February 3. More information at www.eac.edu. Congratulations to Vocal Point for placing first at the ICCA Regional Competition here at BYU last Saturday. Noteworthy placed second, and these two groups go to Stanford on March 18th to compete in the Semi-Final competion. Great job to all the other groups: we had a great time. Vocal Point is excited to bring the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) back to BYU. A Western Region Quarterfinal on January 14th in the JSB at 8:00 p.m. will include 5 groups: Vocal Point, Noteworthy, and Coalescence from BYU, and diSChord and Trojan Men from USC. The competition will be hosted by Moosebutter. Vocal Point was honored to sing at the weekly BYU Campus Devotional today given by President and Sister Samuelson. We have been experiencing difficulties with our mailing list. If you have recently recieved multiple emails from us, we apologize, and are working to fix the problem. Thanks for your patience. Vocal Point is participating in the LDS Church-sponsored First Night Celebration in Salt Lake City at the Conference Center on New Year's Eve. Some pictures from our trip to Alaska and the Homecoming Spectacular have been posted on the Pictures page. Vocal Point was asked for the first time to participate in BYU's Homecoming Spectacular. We performed two numbers: "It Is Well" and "Sing Sing Sing". We were honored to participate in such a wonderful event. Vocal Point just returned from a trip to Alaska. They were invited to sing at the University of Alaska, Anchorage Acappella Festivella, a yearly event, which has seen groups like the Nylons and Rockapella. We are pleased to announce Vocal Point's newest members! Congratulations to Jordan Keith, Ryan Innes, JJ Haines, and Dan Cahoon! Check back soon for more information on these great singers. We also would like to thank everyone who came to auditions. There were some incredible singers there and we hope to see you all again next year. Vocal Point is honored to recieve three Pearl Awards from the Faith Centered Music Association for 2005. In an award ceremony among many prestigious LDS artists, VP recieved awards in the following categories: Auditions for 2005-2006! Vocal Point would like to thank everyone who made our Washington DC/Nauvoo trip possible. Our audiences were fantastic, the sites were amazing, and we made a lot of new friends. After a great trip to California, VP returned home from ICCA with a ranking of 3rd place in the Regional Finals. The show was incredible, and all of the groups there were amazing. Congratulations to Divisi for taking first place, and Fermata Nowhere for second. We'll see you next year, guys! Congrats also to our own Jimmy Dunn for the award of Outstanding Vocal Percussion! At the Divisional round of the ICCA, VP was named Divisional Champion. Awards were also recieved for Outstanding Choreography and Outstanding Vocal Percussion (Jimmy Dunn).
